Ordos added more than 10 gigawatts of newly installed renewable energy capacity in 2024, bringing its cumulative installed capacity to more than 20 GW, more than double last year's number.
According to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional Energy Bureau, the region's raw coal output in 2024 was 1.30 billion metric tons, increasing by 5.4 percent year-on-year, which was 4.1 percentage points higher than the national growth rate. It ranked first in the country, moving ahead of Shanxi province.
