Talent empowers Ordos' innovative industry transformation

As a key national energy base and a hub for clean energy output, Ordos is committed to integrating industry and talent development, accelerating its journey toward becoming an innovation powerhouse by aligning talent chains with innovation and industrial chains.

The city has ranked among the top 100 cities in national innovation capability for the past two years and has been recognized as an exemplary city for industrial transformation and upgrading.

Through flexible hiring and project collaboration, Ordos has introduced six academician teams to fill gaps in top-tier talent. Through its "Warm City Invitation" talent brand, the city has attracted 1,132 urgently needed professionals in new energy, energy storage, and coal-based chemicals, strengthening its talent foundation for industrial development.

Ordos has continued to expand its high-level innovation platforms by establishing 12 new research institutions, six academician workstations, and three major industrial technology innovation alliances. The city has also opened five innovation bases outside its borders, attracting 65 tech companies, 13 research institutions, and 60 high-end technical talents. Through platforms such as its Energy Innovation Valley and national modern coal chemical pilot base, Ordos has established an entire chain from R&D to industrialization.

The city has remained committed to facilitating collaborations between entrepreneurs and research teams, resulting in over 30 cooperative projects. This has also led to 10 national key R&D plans and 45 open bidding projects, with more than 7,000 researchers dedicated to technological breakthroughs, achieving close cooperation between talent development and industrial transformation.
