Ordos, a city in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has once again taken the global stage in desertification control at the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD).
In the spring of 2026, our research team first traveled to Otog Front Banner and Otog Banner in Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region. Sitting in several herders' homes, we sipped hot milk tea and listened to them.
