Inner Mongolia Power Group’s Dongsheng Power Supply Company Enhances Grid Resilience Through Self-Healing Technology Validation

ORDOS, Inner Mongolia – In a significant step toward intelligent grid modernization, Inner Mongolia Power Group’s Ordos Dongsheng Power Supply Company recently conducted a successful real-world validation of distribution network self-healing logic at the 110kV Yuheng Substation. The test, performed during a planned no-load window, demonstrated the system's capability for "second-level power restoration," marking a major upgrade in regional power supply reliability.

The validation focused on the core function of Distribution Automation: enabling the grid to autonomously locate faults, isolate damaged sections, and restore power to healthy areas without manual intervention. During the test, operators simulated a fault scenario and monitored the entire sequence—from trigger to isolation to restoration.

"The simulation has been triggered; monitoring self-healing data!" field operators coordinated with the main control center. Within moments, the system responded flawlessly. "Switch action normal, DTU 'Three Remotes' signals accurate, self-healing logic executed perfectly," confirmed the control center personnel.

Multiple rounds of testing verified the accuracy of the self-healing logic, the coordination between switches and lines, and the precision of remote terminal units (RTUs). All parameters met expectations, effectively optimizing control strategies and identifying potential defects.

This live drill not only validates technical efficacy but also provides critical empirical data for future automation projects. Moving forward, Dongsheng Power Supply Company will continue to refine its operational strategies to deliver a smarter, more reliable power grid for the region.
