More than 60 international students gathered at the Enggebei Ecological Demonstration Zone in Ordos on April 18 for a tree-planting event themed "Planting Green, Building Harmony."

The students, hailing from Mongolia, Russia, Ghana, the Philippines, and Thailand, are currently studying at six universities in Inner Mongolia, including Inner Mongolia University, Inner Mongolia Normal University, and Inner Mongolia Agricultural University.

Armed with shovels and watering buckets, the students planted saplings together, symbolizing not only a green hope for the environment but also the deepening of cross-cultural friendship and mutual learning among civilizations. Organizers described the event as a vivid practice of building a community with a shared future for mankind.

After planting, the group visited the Inner Mongolia Enggebei Desert Museum (Enggebei Desert Science Center), where they learned about scientific approaches to desertification control and successful cases of ecological restoration in the Enggebei area. A prize quiz on China's natural geography and national conditions followed, drawing enthusiastic participation.

Now in its tenth consecutive year, the annual tree-planting event for international students has become a lasting tradition. Participants said the experience gave them a first-hand understanding of China's ecological civilization efforts and a deeper appreciation of the harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature, as well as the global significance of ecological thinking.
