On the morning of Oct 30, the industrial sewage treatment plant and water resource recycling project in the Mengsu Economic Development Zone of Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, were put into operation, becoming the largest photovoltaic (PV) zero-wastewater discharge project in China.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and in the past 75 years, Ordos has achieved remarkable results in the construction of ecological civilization through countless efforts and explorations, and "heavyweight" honors have come one after another.
Mu Us, in Mongolian, means the land where no grass grows. In the past, the surface vegetation was fragile, with scarce rainfall, and as far as the eye could see, it was yellow. However, after several generations of effective governance, it has long since regained its original vitality and become a "green paradise" in people's hearts.
The second "Biodiversity Charming City" list was officially released during the 8th Summit for Subnational Governments and Cities, held in parallel to COP 16 on Oct 26. Ordos was the only city in northwest China to be honored with the title.
Though the temperature is cooling in late autumn, major projects in Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, are not losing their momentum. Project personnel are sparing no effort to put the projects into operation as early as possible!
From lush "Kangbashi green" when viewed from a distance to intoxicating "Ordos blue" when you look up and refreshing "good Chinese air" when you close your eyes and breathe in... this is the ecological well-being shared by the Ordos people.
Xi'an is home to the Terracotta Warriors, while Sichuan is home to Sanxingdui Ruins – both of which are the country's renowned cultural relics attracting much attention. Ordos has also unearthed a national treasure – the Golden Crown with Eagle Top, which has become an online sensation.
