The Otog Front Banner bureau of natural resources has officially approved the preliminary land use and site selection for the photovoltaic and energy storage components of the first phase of the 100,000-kilowatt Source-Grid-Load-Storage Project by Xinkuang Inner Mongolia Energy Co.

This project, located in Bayi village, Shanghaimiao town, represents a significant step forward in renewable energy development. With a total investment of 92 million yuan ($13.07 million) and covering an area of 1.3 hectares, the project includes the construction of a substation, an operations management center, and an energy storage area.

The project aligns with China's "dual carbon" strategy and local energy transition initiatives. It aims to maximize the use of regional renewable energy resources while addressing the energy consumption challenges faced by industrial enterprises.

By integrating coal chemical industries with new energy solutions, the project enhances power security for enterprises and provides a replicable model for Inner Mongolia autonomous region's ambition to become a "national green and low-carbon energy base".
