To energize urban vitality, boost summer consumption and enrich residents' leisure life, Dongsheng district in Ordos city, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has rolled out a regional consumption promotion campaign dubbed "Weekend Mini-Vacation · Weekly Subsidies".
Scheduled to be held every Saturday and Sunday from July 18 to Aug 31, the campaign allocates a total of 10 million yuan ($1.47 million) in special subsidies covering catering, accommodation, shopping and tourism.
Residents and tourists can claim e-coupons via the "Travel in Ordos" platform and redeem them at offline merchant outlets.
I. Subsidy allocation
The 10-million-yuan special consumption subsidy covers five key sectors: 3 million yuan for automobiles, 3 million yuan for supermarkets and department stores, 2 million yuan for catering and accommodation, 1.7 million yuan for home appliances and 3C products, and 300,000 yuan for bathing services.
II. Sector-specific preferential policies
Catering:
The district is cooperating with local catering businesses to launch exclusive weekend and night snack packages and extend nighttime business hours. Combined with night markets and cultural performances, the campaign strengthens the nighttime economy. The e-coupon instant discounts for single purchases are as follows: 20 yuan off every 100 yuan spent, 60 yuan off every 300 yuan spent, 100 yuan off every 500 yuan spent, and 200 yuan off every 1,000 yuan spent.
Accommodation:
Local hotels provide exclusive weekend offers, family rooms, breakfast-inclusive packages and multi-night stay discounts with updated benefits on a weekly basis. Guests with valid hotel check-in vouchers can enjoy exclusive discounts on dining, shopping, and cultural tourism services across the district. Accommodation discount rules: 50 yuan off consumption ranging from 200 yuan to 500 yuan, and 100 yuan off consumption of 500 yuan and above.
Automobiles:
Individual purchasers of non-operational new vehicles can participate in a consumption lottery with a winning rate of over 80 percent by presenting valid vehicle purchase invoices. Tiered prizes are set based on invoice pre-tax prices: 1,000 yuan for purchases of 10,000 yuan and above, 3,000 yuan for total spending of 50,000 yuan to 100,000 yuan, 4,000 yuan for 100,000 yuan to 200,000 yuan, and a maximum prize of 5,000 yuan for purchases over 200,000 yuan. Each vehicle is eligible for one lottery draw only, with a total special lottery fund of 3 million yuan available.
Malls, jewelry, supermarkets and convenience stores:
For mall and jewelry purchases: 60 yuan off for those who spend 300 yuan or above, 100 yuan off a 500-yuan purchase, and 200 yuan off a bill of 1,000 yuan. For supermarkets and convenience stores: 20 yuan off every 100 yuan spent, 40 yuan off every 200 yuan spent, and 60 yuan off every 300 yuan spent.
Home appliances and 3C products:
A 10 percent purchase subsidy is available for 28 types of home appliances and household products, capped at 1,000 yuan per item (excluding state-subsidized categories). New mobile phones and digital devices priced above 6,000 yuan also qualify for a 10 percent subsidy with the same 1,000 per-item cap. Eligible products include microwave ovens, dishwashers, smart door locks, water purifiers, sweeping robots and other smart household equipment.
Bathing services:
Tiered instant discounts for a single purchase: 10 yuan off every 50 yuan spent, 20 yuan off every 100 yuan spent, 40 yuan off every 200 yuan spent, 60 yuan off every 300 yuan spent, and 120 yuan off every 600 yuan spent.
Cultural tourism:
Dongsheng district has launched diverse half-day and one-day mini-vacation routes, covering core scenic spots such as Ordos Fortune Alley, Warm City Alley and Bronze Culture Square.
Integrating leisure sightseeing, cultural check-ins, intangible cultural heritage experiences and trendy entertainment, the routes fully meet the demands of short-distance weekend trips.

Merchant participation rules:
All local catering, accommodation, commercial and cultural tourism merchants with complete business qualifications, standardized tax payments and no irregular records are eligible to participate voluntarily. False price hikes for promotional purposes are strictly prohibited.
