Inner Mongolia Hengxing Chemical Co has recently completed project registration with theDalad Banner Development and Reform Commission for its high-performance organosilicon polymer phase-two upgrading and industrial chain extension project, a 350,000-ton-per-year high-performance organosilicon polymer facility.

The project will be located on vacant land north of the company's existing plant in the Dalad Economic Development Zone, with a total investment of 1.2 billion yuan ($166 million). Using methanol, hydrochloric acid, metallurgical silicon (powder), and chloromethane as key raw materials, the project will adopt advanced organosilicon monomer synthesis, refining, and deep-processing technologies. It includes the construction of a cyclosiloxane separation unit, along with the simultaneous upgrade of existing production systems and auxiliary facilities.

Once completed, the project will add annual production capacity of 20,000 tons of specialty silicone oil, 100,000 tons of room-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber (107 rubber), 50,000 tons of methyl vinyl silicone rubber (110 rubber), 10,000 tons of hydrogen-containing silicone oil, and 50,000 tons of high-purity dimethylcyclosiloxane — achieving a total target of 230,000 tons of high-performance organosilicon polymers per year.

Hengxing's phase-one facility currently produces 200,000 tons of organosilicon monomers (including 120,000 tons of cyclosiloxane), which has been expanded to 350,000 tons through technical upgrades. Once the new phase-two facilities, including a 200,000-ton-per-year cyclosiloxane separation unit and a 20,000-ton-per-year methyl silicone oil unit, are completed and operational, the company will reach a total production scale of 700,000 tons of high-performance organosilicon polymers annually.
