In a continued effort to promote reading among young students, the Ministry of Education of China has released the 2025 list of exemplary cases under the National Youth Student Reading Initiative. A total of 99 cases from across the country were selected following recommendations by provincial education authorities and rigorous review by the Ministry.
Among those honored is Ejin Horoo Banner in Ordos City, which has been recognized for its outstanding practices in advancing youth reading.
Launched in 2023, the annual selection aims to identify and promote replicable and scalable models in key areas such as the development of "scholarly campuses," optimization of reading resources, cultivation of reading literacy, technology-enabled reading innovation, and the transformation of reading outcomes.
The inclusion of Ejin Horoo Banner marks a significant achievement in Ordos' efforts to foster reading among young students. It also injects new momentum into the city's broader mission of promoting nationwide reading and building a reading-friendly society.
