Recently, the Jirige (Kusha II) 500kV Power Transmission and Transformation Project officially received approval from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Energy Bureau.
Located within Hanggin Banner, the project has a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan ($217.5 million). It serves as a critical hub project ensuring the transmission and consumption of new energy power from the northwestern area of Hanggin Banner. The plan includes constructing one new 500kV substation and approximately 194 kilometers of 500kV transmission lines, traversing Hanggin Banner and Dalad Banner.
As a key grid project prioritized for approval at the outset of the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, its approval marks a crucial step forward in the construction of the regional power grid. Upon completion, the project will significantly enhance the regional grid's capacity for power collection and transmission. It will provide strong grid support for the safe delivery of new energy electricity from northwestern Hanggin Banner, playing an important role in improving new energy consumption levels and promoting a green and low-carbon energy transition. Additionally, it will further ensure the safe and stable operation of the regional power grid.
