According to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Department of Industry and Information Technology, the central government has approved a four-year pilot program for comprehensive hydrogen energy application in five city clusters: the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Northeast China (including eastern Inner Mongolia)-Yangtze River Delta, the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region-the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, and the Yellow River's Jizi Bend-the Central Plains.

Seven league cities in Inner Mongolia were selected, marking a new stage in the region's hydrogen energy industry as it moves toward large-scale application across diverse scenarios.

Of the seven selected league cities in Inner Mongolia, Ordos, Baotou, Wuhai, and Xiliin Gol League fall under the Yellow River's Jizi Bend-the Central Plains; Ulaanqab falls under the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region; and Hinggan League and Chifeng fall under Northeast China (including eastern Inner Mongolia)-Yangtze River Delta.

In recent years, Inner Mongolia has accelerated the high-quality development of its hydrogen energy industry, laying the initial foundation and unlocking the potential for large-scale development. Regions across the area are now leveraging distinctive local scenarios to accelerate exploration of large-scale hydrogen energy applications.
