Employees who move to another province for work must transfer their employee medical insurance coverage to the new location under current regulations.

However, within the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, an insured person does not need to apply for a transfer when their place of coverage changes, as medical insurance accounts are automatically merged within the region. A transfer is required only when the new coverage area is in another province.

The process can be completed online through the WeChat mini program "Medical Insurance E Helper for Inner Mongolia" by selecting Services, then "Application for Cross-Provincial Continuation of Medical Insurance Relations," to submit a request.

Applicants must meet two conditions before applying: their medical insurance contributions must have been suspended at the original place of coverage, and they must have active medical insurance coverage at the new location.

These requirements ensure the transfer can be processed between the original and new places of insurance participation.
