Q1: Can children pick up medications for elderly family members who have mobility issues? Whose e-medical code (social security card) should be used for registration and  purchasing medications?

Yes, it is possible. According to Article 17, Section 2 of the "Regulations on the Supervision and Administration of Medical Security Fund Use," if there are special circumstances requiring a proxy to purchase medications, both the principal and the proxy must provide identification. Therefore, in cases where elderly family members have mobility issues, their children can act as proxies.

When registering or purchasing medications at a hospital or pharmacy, whose e-medical code (social security card) should be used?

·If using an electronic e-medical code, you can bind the elderly family member's code to your "Family Account" and present their code during registration.

·If using a physical card, you must bring the elderly family member's social security card, register under their name, and also carry your own identification documents.

For example, if Xiao Li is helping Lao Li purchase medications at a hospital, Xiao Li can bind Lao Li's e-medical code to a "Family Account" and use Lao Li's code directly on their phone during registration.
