The initiative to build a national sustainable development innovation demonstration zone was mentioned twice in Ordos’ 2026 government work report.

When summarizing the achievements of the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the report recognized the State Council’s approval of the city's proposal to establish the demonstration zone as a key accomplishment in “focusing on innovation and deepening reform.”

The report also made clear that accelerating this initiative is one of the key tasks for 2026, aimed at promoting the in-depth integration of technological and industrial innovation.

This recurring emphasis indicates that the initiative is not only an important phased achievement, but will continue to be a priority for Ordos in driving innovation-led development in 2026 and beyond.
