Zhunxin Semiconductor Technology (Inner Mongolia) Co is racing to complete its 6-inch silicon-based power chip project in Juungar Banner, Ordos city. Launched in December 2024, the project aimed to boost regional new quality productive forces and fill a key industrial gap in Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

After more than a year of intensive construction, the core cleanroom and specialized electromechanical installation work are now more than halfway complete. Key production equipment is being rapidly installed, with testing and production preparations proceeding concurrently. Overall construction is progressing steadily, laying a solid foundation for early completion and operation.

As a flagship strategic emerging industry project in Juungar Banner, the initiative covers an area of approximately 150 mu (10 hectares), with a planned total investment of 2 billion yuan ($287.33 million). The core focus is wafer chip manufacturing, with the goal of establishing an intelligent production line capable of producing 1 million 6-inch silicon-based chips annually, supported by complementary facilities. This will create a complete production system from core manufacturing to support services, laying a solid foundation for high-quality industrial development.

Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate an annual output value exceeding 2.5 billion yuan. It will serve as both an "industrial chain leader" and a "little giant" enterprise, attracting upstream new material companies, such as electronic-grade silicon wafers and specialty gases, thereby strengthening and extending the industrial chain.
