As of Dec 26, 2025, Ordos Ejin Horoo Airport had handled 22 chartered cargo flights, achieving a total import-export value exceeding 20 million yuan ($2.87 million) – a record high for the airport. Imports reached 154.8 metric tons worth 1.05 million yuan, while exports amounted to 115.7 tons valued at 19.72 million yuan.
To ensure efficient customs clearance, Ordos Customs continued to streamline procedures by implementing measures such as "advance declaration" and "appointment-based clearance", reducing cargo dwell times at the port. An emergency green channel has also been set up to provide immediate inspection and release for perishable goods like chilled fruits. Tailored clearance solutions have been introduced for cross-border e-commerce commodities and industrial parts, in line with their specific transport requirements.
Since launching a cargo route to Bangkok in 2025, Ordos has further boosted its air freight capacity. Shengxiang (Ordos) International Freight Forwarding Co has been regularly shipping e-commerce goods to Thailand via this route, enabling faster delivery to overseas customers and helping local companies expand into foreign markets.
"The stable operation of international cargo flights reflects strong momentum in Ordos' foreign trade," said Tao Zengbo, deputy commissioner of Ordos Customs. He added that the customs will continue to optimize clearance services and boost the airport's openness, supporting Ordos' high-quality development and its goal of becoming a regional hub for opening-up.
