The "Notice on the Issuance of the 2025 Carbon Emission Standardization Pilot Projects" has announced the selected projects for the 2025 national carbon emission standardization initiative, which include the "Ordos Park Carbon Reduction Standardization Pilot" project. It is the only project from Inner Mongolia autonomous region to make the list.

The Ordos Park Carbon Reduction Standardization Pilot focuses on developing and applying standardized accounting methods, establishing and maintaining a carbon emission factor database, and creating a carbon footprint accounting platform. Once completed, the pilot project will aid enterprises in understanding their carbon footprint, support decision-making for green consumption, expedite international trade development, enhance emissions data management, and promote sustainable corporate growth.

In 2021, Ordos pioneered the initiative of creating a zero-carbon industrial park, aiming to set a benchmark both in China and globally. As of this year, the Ordos Zero Carbon Industrial Park has attracted over 10 leading new energy companies, establishing a comprehensive industry chain that includes wind energy, photovoltaics, solar thermal, hydrogen energy, energy storage, and new energy heavy trucks.

Through the synergy of three innovative systems – new energy system innovation, zero carbon digital operating system innovation, and green industrial cluster innovation – Ordos has achieved a complete zero-carbon transformation from energy production to industrial application. This has provided a replicable zero-carbon development model, setting a new standard for sustainable industrial practices.
