China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently announced the 2025 list of exemplary industrial parks advancing new industrialization, with the Ordos Mengsu Economic Development Zone in Inner Mongolia autonomous region making the cut. This recognition highlights the zone's pivotal role in Inner Mongolia's energy transition and industrial upgrading.
Leveraging its rich energy resources and robust industrial foundation, the Ordos Mengsu Economic Development Zone has crafted a unique development path aligned with the China's "dual carbon" goals. It stands as a benchmark among the autonomous region's industrial parks for high-quality development driven by new industrialization.
The development zone is actively seizing new development opportunities and fostering new growth drivers. It is dedicated to building a zero-carbon industrial park and establishing a comprehensive "wind-solar-hydrogen-storage-vehicle" industry cluster. Efforts are underway to accelerate the construction of a coal-to-clean-fuel demonstration base, enhance modern logistics systems, and improve service capabilities, aimed at turning the zone into a high-quality industrial development hub.
In recent years, the Inner Mongolia Department of Industry and Information Technology has positioned industrial parks as key platforms for advancing new industrialization. Multiple supportive policies have been introduced to streamline park management, improve infrastructure, facilitate industrial relocation, and enhance development quality and efficiency.
Looking ahead, the department plans to encourage other parks to learn from the Mengsu Economic Development Zone's advanced practices in infrastructure, green energy use, circular economy, and standards development. Continued policy support and targeted services will also be provided to cultivate a batch of new industrialization models, injecting fresh momentum into Inner Mongolia's high-quality development.
