On Nov 15, the Sudong 39-61 Gas Storage Facility of the Changqing Oilfield operated by China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) in Uxin Banner officially commenced gas extraction operations for the winter, ensuring a stable gas supply for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and surrounding areas.

As a key national oil and gas infrastructure project, the Sudong 39-61, the first underground gas storage facility in Inner Mongolia, successfully stored 750 million cubic meters of natural gas after 200 consecutive days of injection, setting a new annual reserve record.

By injecting in summer and extracting in winter, the reserves are enough to meet the gas demands of approximately 100 million households for 15 consecutive days, ensuring a stable gas supply for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and surrounding areas while providing robust support for residential heating this winter.

The Sudong 39-61 Gas Storage Facility is China's first facility built alongside a gas field, offering unique advantages in rapid response. This winter, it will provide efficient peak shaving and emergency support for key pipeline networks such as the Shaanxi-Beijing Line and the Changqing Oilfield-Hohhot Line.
