The construction of the Taohutu Coal Mine, a large-scale energy project located in the Nalinhe mining area of Ordos city with a total investment of approximately 9.63 billion yuan ($1.35 billion), is progressing rapidly and has entered its high-quality development phase.
The coalfield boasts proven reserves of 1.43 billion metric tons and is designed for an annual production capacity of 8 million tons. A supporting coal preparation plant is being constructed concurrently to enhance processing efficiency.

The mine's infrastructure development, civil works, and equipment installation – the three key components of the project – are advancing in coordination, achieving substantial milestones. The main shaft, auxiliary shaft, and central air shaft have been connected, with eight underground excavation faces currently operational and the total advance of phase II works exceeding 5,000 meters.
The 98.8-meter-high main shaft tower has been erected, while critical surface facilities, including the 110 kV substation, No 1 staff dormitory, ventilation chamber, and boiler room, have been completed on schedule. The 110 kV substation and central air shaft ventilation facility have also been put into operation.
As a strategically significant project, the Taohutu Coal Mine is advancing steadily with robust engineering progress and effective capital deployment, contributing significantly to national energy security and high-quality regional development.
