Ms Zhao, a resident of Dongsheng district in Ordos city, recently completed the relocation of her business from Barkol Kazak autonomous county in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region to Dongsheng district entirely online, marking the district's first cross-province business relocation handled through digital channels.
What made the process remarkable was that Ms Zhao received her new business license directly from the district's government service hall, without having to travel 1,700 kilometers to complete the formalities on-site.

In the past, cross-provincial business relocation involved complicated procedures, long waiting times, and often multiple trips between the original and destination locations. To reduce burdens on enterprises, Dongsheng district has streamlined processes by introducing an integrated online government service platform.
The new mechanism allows the entire procedure – from application to acceptance and finalization – to be completed in a single online session. Designated staff members also offer one-to-one assistance to help pre-check application documents and guide users through the online submission process.
As a result, the required application materials have been reduced by 65 percent, and the processing time has been shortened from 14 working days to less than three. This digital shift is part of broader government efforts to enhance service efficiency and convenience for businesses, allowing data to travel farther so that people travel less.
