In a bid to foster a talent-friendly city, the Ordos human resources and social security bureau is set to launch its 2025 Q4 University Student Entrepreneurship Funding Initiative, aiming to encourage and support university students in starting their own businesses.
Eligible university graduates within five years of graduation, or current students from universities in Ordos, can receive a one-time entrepreneurship grant. The grant amounts are tiered at 50,000 yuan ($7,017), 100,000 yuan, 150,000 yuan, and 200,000 yuan, determined by factors such as the project's technological content, potential economic and social benefits, market prospects, and team structure.
Applicants must meet the following criteria to qualify for the grant:
1) The business must be the applicant's first enterprise established within the Ordos region, legally registered for at least three months, operating normally, and paying taxes in Ordos.
2) The applicant must be the legal representative of the enterprise, with an ownership stake of at least 30 percent. The applicant must have paid social security contributions for at least three months at the time of application (excluding back payments). Social security contributions are not required for current students.
3) Both the applicant and the enterprise must demonstrate a strong record of social responsibility, with no negative records concerning business operations, safety incidents, tax payments, or social credit.
Eligible applicants should apply through the human resources and social security department in their tax registration area and submit the required documentation as specified.
