The "Photovoltaic + Desertification Control + Livestock Breeding Industry Consortium" model from Ordos National Sustainable Development Agenda Innovation Demonstration Zone has been selected as a typical case for sustainable livestock farming.

The model was highlighted in a report titled "Sustainable Agricultural Development under the Dual-Carbon Context" from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)'s "Digital Transformation and Sustainable Development of China's Food System" research project. This selection showcases China's innovative approach to sustainable and circular development in agriculture and animal husbandry.

The report emphasizes that as the livestock industry expands and demand for meat products increases, achieving a balance between industrial development and ecological protection has become a pressing issue.

Ordos, with its distinctive livestock industry and geographical conditions, integrates various technologies, including new energy development, desert grass cultivation, and green sheep farming, to create a sustainable development model of "spatial integrated utilization, industrial circular symbiosis, and diversified benefits".

This model integrates grass cultivation, livestock farming, manure recycling, and photovoltaic power generation, achieving a win-win scenario that benefits ecology, economy, and society.
