A 585-million-yuan ($81.41 million) cooperation agreement was signed at the recent Production, Supply, and Marketing Matchmaking Summit for Inner Mongolia's Beef Industry in Ordos.
The event also promoted Ordos' high-end beef products, with six local enterprises participating, including Ordos Jiasheng Cattle Industry Co, Inner Mongolia Zhanhe Cattle Industry Co, and Ordos Caojin Breeding Co.
These companies signed the agreement with partners such as Guangdong Jianhaoyuan Agricultural Products Technology Co and Shanghai Ranwei International Trade Co, along with four other industry players.
This agreement will help establish a stable supply chain, delivering beef products from Ordos pastures to dining tables across China. This ensures supply of high-quality beef to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Southwest China, while also facilitating the development of a national high-end beef market.
Thanks to its multiple targeted measures over the years, Ordos' beef industry has experienced robust growth. The city currently has 124,000 beef cattle (including 114,000 Angus and 10,000 Wagyu), accounting for 30 percent of Inner Mongolia's total, making it the largest high-end beef cattle breeding base in Northwest China.
This eye-catching achievement stems from close collaboration across the industrial chain, and the 585-million-yuan deal not only represents a financial milestone, but also marks a significant step forward in expanding the market for Ordos' high-end beef industry.
