On April 19, at the plenary session of Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, executive committee members voted to grant Ordos' Ejin Horoo Banner the right to host the 46th Asian Road Cycling Championships, the 33rd Asian Junior Road Cycling Championships, and the 15th Asian Para Road Cycling Championships.
After the delegation from Ejin Horoo Banner made a statement on behalf of Ordos, Dato Amarjit Singh Gill, president of the confederation, announced the decision, speaking highly of the banner's bidding plan, tracks and facilities. He said the banner will enrich the event with its history of 4,000 years and embody the concept of "sports empowering civilization", making it a milestone in the history of Asian cycling.
Starting in the 1960s, the Asian Road Cycling Championships have been held 44 times to date. They are a stage for Asian cyclists to compete for honor and Olympic qualifications. They offer men's and women's elite group competitions, individual time trials, a U23 group event, and a mixed team relay. The 46th Asian Road Cycling Championships, to be held from May to June in 2027, mark the first time that China has hosted the event since its inception.
Ejin Horoo Banner, hoping to win Ordos the moniker of "Cycling City", will implement strict standards. The Banner will provide first class facilities, services, and other support to ensure a high-quality, sustainable and inclusive cycling event.
