The Ordos municipal energy bureau has approved the city's first wind-storage coordinated grid-constructing new power station project.

The project is located in Ejin Horoo Banner and has a total investment of 2.77 billion yuan ($382.54 million). It plans to build 500 megawatts of wind power and 250,000 kilowatts/500,000 kilowatt-hours of grid-structured energy storage systems.

The project is completing the preliminary procedures for environmental impact assessment, water conservation, geological disaster prevention, and forestry and grassland approval. Construction will commence in June 2025, with the first batch of grid connections in December 2025 and full capacity grid connections in June 2026.
