Ordos' Gaotouyao Mining Area recently received approval for its master plan (revised version) from the National Development and Reform Commission.
This state-planned mining area, consisting of East and West, covers 798 square kilometers with 10.3 billion metric tons of coal.
It is divided into five mining fields, two integrated mining areas through renovation of small- and medium-sized open-pit coal mines, and two exploration areas. The planned coal mining capacity is 48 million tons per year.
The approval is significant for scientific and rational exploration of coal resources, ensuring secure and stable energy supply, and promoting regional economic and social development.
