A 50-megawatt self-supply wind power plant project in Otog Banner has recently been approved.

Developed by Mengxi Coal Chemical Co of the National Energy Group, this distributed wind power plant involves a total investment of 236 million yuan ($32.6 million). It will power the company's various new loads: preserving underground water while mining, optimizing mine water treatment, and upgrading boilers.

The plant will be equipped with a 7.5MW/30MWh energy storage facility composed of container-shaped lithium iron phosphate batteries, which will allow it to enjoy a new energy utilization rate of 97.74 percent.

It is expected to generate 129 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, reducing standard coal consumption by 39,600 metric tons and carbon emission by 108,000 tons.

Once completed, the project will optimize the regional industrial structure and promote the local economy's green transformation.
