The China Basic Education High-quality Development Index Report (2024) was officially released at the 2024 Boao Forum for Entrepreneurs on Dec 2. Kangbashi district of Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, stood out among 19 sample regions in China, ranking second with a total index of 93.14 points, showing its strength in educational development.

The results of the index show that the 19 sample districts and counties are divided into three categories: "pilot level", "superior level" and "medium level", with Kangbashi designated as pilot level, along with Chaoyang district of Beijing, Guangming district of Shenzhen, Karamay district of Karamay, and Xihu district of Hangzhou.

Kangbashi performed well and ranked first with an impressive score of 100 points in China's high-quality development equity index for basic education. In terms of preschool education, as the only district and county in Inner Mongolia, it was included in the first batch of the Ministry of Education's Pilot Zone for Enhancing the Quality of Kindergarten Education and Care and Pilot Zone for the Universal Preschool Education Support System.

Also, in the educational development innovation index, Kangbashi performed well with a score of 97.26 points, ranking second among the sample districts and counties. In the educational development scale index, Kangbashi ranked fourth with a score of 91.01 points. In the education development quality index, it ranked fourth with a score of 90.39 points, while in the education development efficiency index, it placed third.
