The wind and solar hydrogen production integration project of ZTHC Energy Co in Uxin Banner, Ordos, has recently been approved.

The project, located in the banner's Sulige Economic Development Zone, Uxin Banner, has a total investment of 1.69 billion yuan ($232.38 million). Construction will start in March 2025 and be completed in December 2026.

The project will adopt a water electrolysis hydrogen production process, with a projected annual hydrogen production capacity of 30,000 metric tons. A total of 48 electrolyzers with a capacity of 1,000 normal cubic meters per hour (Nm³/h) each and four electrolyzers with a capacity of 2,000 Nm³/h each will be constructed, along with hydrogen storage facilities totaling 180,000 Nm³ (six spherical tanks, each with a capacity of 1,875 m³).

Additionally, the project will have a power generation capacity of 450,000 kilowatts via wind and 236,800 kW via photovoltaics. It also has an energy storage capacity of 3 megawatts, accounting for 0.4 percent of the new enerrgy installed capacity.
