The zero-carbon logistics heavy-duty truck battery swap network project recently set up operations in the Shanghaimiao Economic Development Zone in Otog Front Banner, Ordos, marking the commissioning of the first heavy-duty truck battery swap station in the banner.
The project, with a total investment of 104.5 million yuan ($14.42 million) and covering an area of 3.33 hectares, will consist of the construction of a battery swap station, charging parking spaces, a testing station, service stations, and more.
It is expected to deploy 100 battery-swapped heavy-duty trucks with a service radius of 300 kilometers, which will serve logistics routes such as Ningdong-Exi Logistics Park-Otog Front Banner-Uxin Banner-Hengshan-Yulin.
The project utilizes Qiji Swap, a one-stop heavy-duty truck chassis battery swap solution independently developed by CATL – a Chinese battery manufacturing giant. Qiji Swap features long battery life and quick charging, making the heavy-duty truck transportation industry more environmentally friendly, economical, and efficient.
The project will promote the development of green logistics in Otog Front Banner, positioning it as a pioneer in green and smart transportation in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and aiding the electrification and digital transformation of the logistics industry in Otog Front Banner.
