The Manghatu power transmission and transformation project, a switching station 500 kilovolts booster, was put into operation on Nov 24 in Shanghaimiao Economic Development Zone, Otog Front Banner, Ordos.

This reconstruction and expansion project, which received a total investment of 316 million yuan ($43.61 million), involved the construction of 41 iron towers, and 13.71 kilometers of access roads and side slopes, covering an area of 1.50 hectares.

The project started construction on July 1, 2024. Now in operation, it can expand Southwestern Ordos' grid capacity and meet the nearly 50-kilowatt electricity load increased by industrial demand.

The station provides favorable access for local industrial power sources to connect to the grid, enhancing the capacity and reliability of the area's power supply and promoting economic and industrial development.
