On Nov 5, the Lanhai Photovoltaic Power Station, China's largest single photovoltaic base in a coal mining subsidence area, was officially connected to the grid. The power station can generate up to 5.7 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, meeting the demands of 2 million households.
Located in Otog Front Banner, Ordos, the Lanhai Photovoltaic Power Station has installed 5.9 million solar panels and boasts a total capacity of 3 million kilowatts. It is a key supporting project of the ultra-high-voltage direct current (UHVDC) power transmission project from western Inner Mongolia to southern Shandong. It is also a pilot project for the nation’s west-to-east power transmission and western development.
