The first meeting of the Chinese delegation for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games was held in Beijing on July 13. Among the 716 delegates, 405 are athletes – 136 male and 269 female, including Li Qian, a female athlete from Ordos.

On the afternoon of Oct 4, 2023, Li beat her Indian rival in the women's 75 kg boxing final of the Hangzhou Asian Games, winning the gold medal and qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The 34-year-old boxer was born in the city of Shangqiu in North China's Henan province. Her parents took her to Ordos in 2006, and she was admitted to Inner Mongolia Sports Vocational College the same year.

Her career started in 2007, when she was selected as a member of the Inner Mongolia boxing team by Hada Bateer, the coach of the Chinese boxing team.

In recent years, Li has won many medals at international events, the most impressive being a silver medal in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The Chinese female boxing team won two silver medals at the event, marking one of its most remarkable achievements.

With her unyielding spirit, Li has earned herself a place in the boxing ring and won career success one punch at a time. Come on, Li Qian! See you at the Paris Olympics!
