From July 19 to 21, 2024, in Kangbashi district, Ordos, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, people who trade in an old vehicle and purchase a new energy vehicle (NEV) can receive up to 16,000 yuan ($2201.60) in subsidies, which includes both city and district-level auto subsidies.
In Kangbashi, not only are there subsidies for vehicle purchases, but also dining and entertainment vouchers for those who buy NEVs.
The detailed city and district-level auto subsidy policies are as follows:
In Ordos:
Trade-in: Transferring or scrapping a non-commercial passenger vehicle registered before April 2024 and purchasing an NEV from a dealership, consumers can claim subsidies of 7,000, 8,000, 9,000, or 10,000 yuan based on the price of the vehicle.
New vehicle purchase: Directly purchasing an NEV from a dealership, consumers can claim subsidies of 3,000, 4,000, 5,000, or 6,000 yuan based on the price of the vehicle.
In terms of traditional fuel vehicles, either of the aforementioned ways offers a deduction of 1,000 yuan.
In Kangbashi district:
From July 19 to 21, 2024, people who purchase a new vehicle from a Kangbashi-based NEV dealership can claim subsidies of 4,000, 5,000, or 6,000 yuan based on the vehicle price, plus one dining voucher worth 200 yuan and two scenic cruise tickets for Ulan Mulun Lake worth 120 yuan.
During this period, consumers who wish to buy an NEV can visit the Kangbashi District NEV Exhibition Center to experience and purchase various models from 20 brands such as BYD, Great Wall, Voyah, NIO, and more. The event will also feature live performances, brand-themed nights, and an NEV parade.
