Ordos Xinchuang New Materials Co, a company located in Dalu Industrial Park of the Juungar Economic Development Zone in Ordos, has recently put the graphitization section of the first phase of its lithium-ion battery anode material factory into trial production.
Covering an area of 823.66 mu (54.91 hectares) and with a total investment of 2.72 billion yuan ($373.35 million), the factory is divided into three phases. The first phase mainly consists two graphitization sections, and when they go into operation in 2025 as expected, they will produce 10,000 metric tons of graphitized anode materials annually.
The factory is said to be the first of its kind in Ordos. When operating at full capacity, it will produce 80,000 tons of anode materials for lithium-ion batteries every year and is expected to generate 3.4 billion yuan in annual revenue, pay 430 million yuan in annual taxes, and create over 1,000 jobs.
