In the Ordos High-tech Industrial Development Zone's equipment manufacturing industrial park, the machines are running at full capacity, while workers are toiling away at Elion Das Solar Co's newly-operational production workshop for the 4-gigawatt high-efficiency photovoltaic module project, which will be deployed in the Gobi-desert-wilderness area.
The advanced domestic production equipment is used to produce module products with two specifications – 182mm and 210mm. These products boast exceptional photoelectric conversion efficiency, strong weak light response, and high product reliability, and demonstrate significant advantages in various environments such as the Gobi-desert-wilderness, snow, and high humidity areas. They are exported to Xinjiang, Qinghai and other places.

The construction of supporting building projects is also progressing smoothly. The supporting project has entered its final phase, with Warehouse No 1 for hazardous chemicals and Factory No 3 already finalized and undergoing a thorough cleaning. In addition, 90 percent of construction work on outdoor pipelines, roads, and landscaping has been completed, and they are expected to be put into service by the end of June.
The 4GW high efficiency photovoltaic module project in the Gobi-desert-wilderness area is a joint venture established by Elion Resources Group and DAS Solar New Energy Technology Co.
It aims to construct a dedicated research and production base for 10GW of its kind in Ordos High-tech Industrial Development Zone, with an estimated investment of approximately 5 billion yuan ($687.5 million) in fixed assets and liquid capitals.
The 10-GW project is expected to generate annual sales revenue exceeding billions of yuan and create over 1,000 jobs.
