Construction on the Jing Ao (JA) Solar Low-Carbon Demonstration Base for the Whole Industry Chain is now in full swing.
Located in the Ordos High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, the project involves a total investment of 28 billion yuan ($3.87 billion) with an area of 2,580 mu (172 hectares). It has a designed annual production of 30 gigawatts of crystal pulling, 30 GW of wafers, 30 GW of cells, and 10 GW of modules, making it the largest photovoltaic base currently under construction in Ordos.
So far, the steel structure of the standardized factory buildings and the main body of the supporting dormitory buildings have been completed. And the project has accumulated a construction output value of 1.77 billion yuan.
Jia Weihao, the engineering power manager of Ordos JA Solar Technology Co, said, "After being put into production in the third quarter of 2024, our photovoltaic module products will be used in various photovoltaic power stations in deserts, gobies, coal mining areas, subsided areas, and roof-mounted distributed photovoltaic power stations."
The project will be handed over and begin production by July 15 and be fully completed on Oct 5. It is expected to generate 40 billion yuan in annual output and employ 10,000 individuals.
