Ordos Shanghaimiao Economic Development Zone

Ordos Shanghaimiao Economic Development Zone, established in 2001 by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region People's Government, has a planned area of 20.86 square kilometers, with a completed area of 11.9 square kilometers and a total fixed asset investment of 81.85 billion yuan by the end of 2021. 

Its primary industries are energy chemicals and comprehensive resource utilization.

The zone has developed significant production capacities, including a ten million kilowatt power transmission capacity, 20.8 million tons of coal, 1.3 million tons of coke, 70,000 tons of tar, 300,000 tons of liquefied natural gas, two million tons of gangue filling capacity, five million tons of coal logistics transport capacity, and 60,000 tons of coal machinery production and repair capacity.

A power transmission channel from Shanghaimiao to Shandong has been completed, along with the initial establishment of coal coking and coal machinery maintenance industry chains. The park aims to become a clean energy export base with a focus on developing green coal power and coal-to-gas industries.
