The Hanggin Banner Economic Development Zone in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, consists of the Duguitala Industrial Park and the New Energy Industrial Park.
It currently accommodates 118 enterprises, including 38 that are above desginated size. The zone, with a production capacity of 5.88 million tons, focuses on the coal chemical industry, while the New Energy Industrial Park emphasizes solar power, ecological new energy, and LNG projects, with a total investment of 18.3 billion yuan.
The park has already established coal-to-methanol, coal-to-fine chemicals, coal-to-fertilizer, and fine chemical industry chains.
1. Duguitala Industrial Park
Established in 2015, the Duguitala Industrial Park covers 26.56 square kilometers, and had a built-up area of 13.9 square kilometers by the end of 2021.
It has attracted a cumulative fixed asset investment of 41.38 billion yuan, focusing on chemicals and new materials, including such products as methanol, synthetic ammonia and urea.
2. New Energy Industrial Park
Approved in March 2009, the New Energy Industrial Park covers 8.7 square kilometers, and had a built-up area of 5.21 square kilometers by the end of 2021. It has received a cumulative fixed asset investment of 14.33 billion yuan.
The park's main industries are clean energy and emerging industries, with key capacities and outputs including three billion kilowatt-hours of new energy electricity generation, one million tons of liquefied natural gas, 40,000 tons of non-alkali glass beads, and other energy-related products.
The park has established an industry chain comprising "natural gas liquefaction, BOG (boil-off gas), helium, heavy hydrocarbons" and another including "coking, power generation, and heating".
