The city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region recently issued the "implementation plan for the demonstration application of new energy intelligent connected vehicles."

The plan aims to create a "1+N" intelligent networked vehicle industry layout, with the Kangbashi New Energy Intelligent Networked Vehicle Demonstration Zone as its core and several diversified application scenarios as its support.

The plan focuses on improving the city's basic industrial capabilities and industrial chain level. This will be a driving force in building Ordos into a leading new energy intelligent connected automobile industry hub in Northwest China.

In addition, the plan clarifies that by 2025, positive progress will be made in the construction of the Ordos intelligent transportation system as well as smart city-related facilities.

To achieve such goals, Ordos will build an advanced intelligent infrastructure system that integrates traffic data, including traffic information, vehicle information, and transportation information in the city. This will be done through the application of cutting-edge technologies, such as big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence.

Additionally, Ordos is to promote the preparation and construction of several complexes for new energy intelligent connected vehicles. It will also accelerate the development of intelligent connected mining vehicles and commercial vehicle test centers, as well as build a national-level modern test demonstration application platform.

Simultaneously, Ordos is going to produce multiple scenarios of how new energy intelligent networked vehicles will operate in real-world settings. This includes buses, tourist shuttle vehicles, mining vehicles, sweepers, police patrol vehicles, and automatic retail vehicles.

To achieve its goal, Ordos will introduce well-known research and development institutions at home and abroad to carry out in-depth sci-tech research as well as development and innovation projects.

It will then establish a new energy intelligent network traffic management system that combines government supervision, corporate responsibility, self-regulation within an industry, and social supervision.
