The Energy Research Institute of Inner Mongolia Academy for Advanced Studies has completed a series of enterprise outreach sessions from mid-August to early September.

Jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and co-built by the Ordos municipal government and Inner Mongolia University of Technology, the institute serves as a major platform for harnessing national scientific and technological innovation resources, advancing the national energy strategy, and driving the transformation and upgrading of the new energy industry. It holds strategic significance for elevating regional higher education, attracting top-tier research talent, and fostering industrial innovation.

To bridge the gap between research capabilities and industry demands, the Ordos education and sports bureau, in partnership with Inner Mongolia University of Technology, formed a task force to visit six key State-owned energy enterprises: Inner Mongolia Power Group, Inner Mongolia Energy Investment Group, China Energy Zhunneng Group, Shenhua Group Zhunge'er Energy Co, Huadian Inner Mongolia Energy Co, and North United Electric Power Co.

Through panel discussions, policy briefings, and face-to-face exchanges, the team presented the institute's mission, operational framework, and models for university-industry collaboration. The team held in-depth conversations on research project design, joint graduate training, technology transfer, and corporate engagement.

The outreach identified 13 technology needs spanning areas such as next-generation dispatch automation, green retrofitting of mining sites, advanced coal-fired power technologies, and carbon emission reduction solutions.

Looking ahead, second and third waves of enterprise visits are scheduled for September and October, with an industry-academia matchmaking forum on energy cooperation planned for the end of September. These efforts aim to deepen industry-university-research integration and build a solid foundation for the institute's high-quality development.
