The 2026 Ordos Warm City Naadam Fair kicked off in Otog Front Banner on Aug 6.

The event combines elements of culture, sports, tourism, commerce, and agriculture to draw visitors, boost spending, and promote local development. The fair will run through Aug 10.

The opening ceremony drew large crowds. Delegations from all banners and districts marched into the stadium in uniform, each presenting a distinctive performance that showcased their local industries and folk traditions – a vivid display of ethnic unity and shared progress.

Drone performances and fireworks lit up the night sky, with choreographed formations and dazzling bursts of color immersing the audience in a festive and romantic atmosphere.

During the fair, a wide range of events will be held, including performances of "three skills of the Inner Mongolian man" – wrestling, archery, and horse racing – as well as Mongolian chess games, all open to the public.

A variety of cultural and tourism activities will also take place, including the Grassland Village Volleyball tournament, touring performances by Ordos Ulan Muqi Troupe, a city-wide square dance competition, a special fair, and open-air theatrical performances.

These offerings provide a one-stop experience of watching, competing, shopping, and sightseeing, extending the cultural and tourism consumption chain.
