The "China City Human Settlements Blue Book," released by the China Sustainable Development Research Association, evaluated 107 prefecture-level cities across the country on their progress toward UN Sustainable Development Goal 11. Ordos ranked fifth in public transportation, while its "per capita park green space" and "green space ratio in built-up areas" both achieved the top-tier "good performance" rating.

By the end of 2025, Ordos reported a green space ratio of 41.3% in its built-up areas and a per capita park green space of 32.53 square meters—both well above the national average. The city has developed a comprehensive green network through projects ranging from large smart sports parks to pocket parks and urban greenways.

In public transportation, Ordos operates 110 bus routes in its downtown area, with new energy vehicles accounting for 100% of the fleet. The city has also introduced senior-friendly routes, student-specific lines, and other accessibility features to ensure convenient travel for the elderly, children, and people with disabilities.

Ordos will continue to advance urban renewal and quality improvement as a resource-based region, contributing its experience to the global implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
